Marymount NS needs council land for new extension

-

COUNCILLOR Paul Bell has called on Louth County Council and the elected members to support the proposed extension to Marymount School in Ballsgrove which will require a 30 meter extension to the existing perimeter on lands in Council ownership.

“I am supporting this project which will secure the future of Marymount School for boys and girls for future generations to come. The school will be completely rebuilt and refurbished on its exiting site and with the proposed extension to the site allowing for proper car parking and set down facilities for bus and car transport will be established thereby relieving existing traffic congestion in the community at school opening and closing times,’ he said.

“There are some technical matters to be resolved which includes the Council Chief Executive bringing a proposal to dispose of the required land to the School Board before the elected members of Louth County Council.

‘ The local community also require assurances and concrete proposals that traffic management in the vicinity of the school will be adequately addressed in the interests of residents in Ballsgrove and Highfield. .
