Carstolen incarkey ‘fishing’ incident

-

GARDAÍ are investigating the theft of a grey Lexus from a property in Grange Rath during the early hours of Sunday morning last.

The incident is one of a number in which car keys have been ‘fished’ out of the house.

The latest incident happened sometime between 2am and 2.20am in the Park Way area of the estate.

The car, a grey Lexus GS300 with a 142 MH registration, was stolen from the driveway of the house.

The car was later discovered on fire at Castle Grove, Julianstown at 4.50am by a garda patrol vehicle.

The Fire Service attended the scene but the car was completely destroyed.

Anybody who may have been in the vicinity of the Dublin Road or Julianstown around this time and who may have noticed this vehicle being driven away or anyone who may have any other information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Duleek Garda Station on (041) 9823222.

Crimes in which car keys are ‘fished’ out through letterboxes are becoming more prevalent and gardaí have appealed to the public not to leave keys on display on hallway tables as many criminals will take advantage if keys are on view.
