Ardee CS hit the cinema

-

On Thursday the 21st of September, a group of Higher Level Leaving Certificate students and their teachers, Ms. McGuinness and Ms. O’Reilly, went to the Omniplex Cinema in Dundalk.

These students from Ardee Community School booked to see a live streaming of King Lear from the Globe Theatre in London. This was a wonderful cultural experience and so beneficial as King Lear is the play being studied for the Leaving Certificate English Exam in 2018.

The title role was played by Kevin McNally of Pirates of the Caribbean fame. He was superb and evoked the sympathy of the audience as he spiralled downwards into madness. The students were treated to a performance of the highest possible standard.

They felt like they were actually in the Globe Theatre except the fact that they were eating popcorn and not sitting on wooden seats.

What a great experience!
