TOWNLEY HALL GOLF CLUB

Winners of the scramble played 23rd September are as follows: 1st: Joe leech, Jim Faulkner, Mary Smith. 2nd: Paul McAuley, Sam Dooley, Ena O’Hare, 3rd: Brenden Tiernan, Robbie Lloyd & Eithne McCole. The Winner of the Gold Medal on 24th September was Pauric Pentony with 21 points.

WELL DONE TO THE EMMETS

There was great celebratio­ns in the parish last weekend when the Glen Emmets were victorious in the Louth Junior Championsh­ip Final. All headed to the Grove in Castlebell­ingham and by all accounts they came up against a very worthy side in Glyde Rangers. It was a close one in the end with Glyde Rangers 0-14 Glen Emmets 1-12. The lads did themselves proud in bringing the Christy Bellew Cup back to Tullyallen and the parish is just bursting with pride.

They now have a new goal in mind with everyone looking forward to Saturday, 7th October when the Emmets will travel to Nowlan Park in Kilkenny where they will take on Conachy Shamrocks in Round 1 of the AIB Leinster Club JFC at 2pm. All support would be gladly appreciate­d by the lads.

PARISH NEWS

The First Do This in Memory Mass is on Sunday 8th of October at 11am.. Harvest Sunday will take place at Masses the weekend of Sat 28th of October and Sunday 29th of October.

MEN’S SHED

The Men’s Shed Tullyallen meet up every Tuesday and Friday mornings 10am till 1.00pm. This is open to all men in the Parish and surroundin­g areas. Everyone has something

to offer the Shed they would be delighted to get new members on board. They are currently in process of obtaining a site for their workshop.

SLIMMING WORLD TIMES

Slimming World have two classes each week on Thursdays. The first class is 5pm and the second is 7pm. Why not head on down to the Glen Emmets Clubrooms and get on the right track.

GLEN EMMETS CLUBROOMS

THE BRICKX CLUB

Great news for all the lego kids out there. There is a Brickx club in Starinagh, Collon every Thursday from 5 till 6. This is aimed at kids between 4 and 12 who love being creative with their brick building. Why not give Theresa a call on 086 3212986 to for further details.

LOTTO RESULTS

Results for the Glen Emmets Lotto held Tuesday, 26th September 2017. The Grand Prize Draw for €10,000 was held and there was no winner. The numbers drawn were 1, 11, 20 & 22. The second draw for €1,800 there was no winner for that draw, the numbers drawn were: 2,3,5 & 24. The Lucky dip winners for €25 are as follows: Julian Loughran, Lillie Cassidy, Ollie McShane & Mick O’Neill. The Main Jackpot will remain at €10,000 until it is won and the second draw is €1,900. ARDCATH/CLONALVY PARISH WEEKDAY MASS TIMES

As and from the 5th of September the Tuesday weekday Mass will be in St John the Baptist Church Clonalvy and Wednesday and Friday in St Mary’s Church Ardcath. All at 9.30am. Thank you to everyone on your input to this decision.

TRAD NIGHTS IN BENNETT’S

Bennett’s is the place to be any Thursday night with great live music there for all to enjoy. Musicians and singers are welcome any night to perform. Starting time is 9.30p.m. So, get there early. If you enjoy live traditiona­l music Bennett’s is the mecca for great music and craic. The East Meath Active Retirement group have resumed their weekly activities each Thursday afternoon in the St Mary’s Church of Ireland Parish rooms at 2.30p.m. New members are always welcome.

Carmel’s Chaerobics Exercise Classes “Sit and Get Fit” as broadcast on LMFM has started in Tullydonne­ll School Hall from Tuesday 26th September 7.30 – 8.30 p.m and every Tuesday for six weeks.
