565 cars seized

GARDAI have seized 565 vehicles in the past year for road traffic offences.

The startling figure was revealed by Supt Andrew Watters who said that there were also prosecutions as a result od the seizures.

Robberies drop

A number of serious ongoing investigations, targeting males in the 18-early 20”s bracket has resulted in a drop in robberies.

There have been 10 such incidents in the past year, but only two since February.

‘We have targeted those involved in dangerous, violent robberies from establishments’, Supt Watters stated.
