St Colmcilles Movember challenge for cancer centre

-

FOLLOWING last year’s huge success, St Colmcilles GAA club are once again participating in the Movember Challenge in association with The Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre in Drogheda.

Having raised over €18,000 last year, club members and players will be changing their faces to grow a mo for the month of November.

Whether it is a trucker, connoisseur, wisp or no matter the style or shape of your mo, St Colmcilles are looking for men to get involved this November to raise funds for the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre and St Colmcilles GAA.

The Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre in Drogheda is a centre which provides counselling, information and psychological support for people affected by cancer and those who care for them free of charge.

The annual cost of running this centre is €300,000 which the centre must raise themselves to keep this service available to the people of the North East.

Half of the money raised through St Colmcilles Movemeber challenge will go towards the running cost of The Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre.

Alan Kelly, St Colmcilles juvenile coach is hoping to build on the success of last year’s event. ‘It is a great way for men in our club to meet with other members who they may not already know, to have fun in taking part and to help raise awareness of men’s health and wellbeing,’ he said.
