€51,000 to fix two potholes!

-

CLLR Paddy Meade has slammed the policy in relation to the repair of roads in Co.Meath.

He says the schemes are not working, with some roads, leading to fields and farmyards, getting fixed but other ones not.

He told last week’s area council meeting that it would cost €51,000 to repair a road that had two potholes. He said he knew of one man who had just a week to get thousands of euro together to be part of one repair scheme.

‘I hope cul de sacs are treated like other roads,’ he stated.

‘We need to look at the whole policy of repairing roads,’ he added.
