Parking machine was open - and not a cent stolen!

-

THE mystery of an unlocked and opened parking ticket dispenser machine at the junction of Cord Road and Hand Street has yet to be resolved claims Councillor Paul Bell, having reported the incident to Louth County Council on Friday morning last following contact from local residents.

“Yes, it is a mystery and I suppose the main part of the mystery is that not a cent was removed even though the coin box was on full view to all those passing along the street.

‘While it is rare to see such an incident I requested immediate assistance as I feared that a child may place their hands on the electrics of the box which would have given a nasty electric shock.

‘I have requested that the matter be investigated as there was no sign of forced entry of the equipment and I am also aware that some parts of County Louth have experienced vandalism and breaking into ticket dispensers to steal money. I await a report from council and gardai who were also informed of the incident” Bell concluded.
