Magical night in store at the Holy Family

-

NINE months ago, what was widely acclaimed as one of the best concerts of the year in Drogheda took place at the Holy Family Church in Ballsgrove.

Up to 800 people packed the beautiful church for the memorable concert in aid of the local branch of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Now, another All-Star concert is to take place at the same venue, by kind permission of Fr David Bradley.

Friday, November 3 is the date for your diary for what promises to be another special musical occasion.

It will feature leading tenor, Eugene Ginty, with special guest, star soprano, Amie Dyer, the Lourdes senior and junior brass bands, and the Holy Family youth choir.

In February, Eugene wowed the audience with a magnificent selection from his repertoire and took several encores. On that occasion, he deputised at short notice for Amie, who was indisposed.

Now, the exciting prospect of having both on the same bill will ensure that, as well as featuring separately, they will be singing several duets.

The Holy Family Youth Choir also made a big impression on that occasion and their reappearance will be much anticipated.

Band enthusiasts will be catered for by the Lourdes senior and junior brass bands, who have distinguished themselves at events around the country.

The November 3 concert, which begins at 8pm, is in aid of the Alzheimer branch’s building fund. Tickets shortly from the church and after masses.
