The hit Irish Indie film ‘ Dead Along The Way’ staring local man Niall Murphy has gone global as it launches on Amazon Prime.

Janson Media announced last week that it has acquired global VOD rights to Dead Along The Way, the award-winning Irish film written and directed by Maurice O’Carroll and starring Termonfeckin native Niall Murphy.

The film was made over the course of three weeks on a shoestring budget of just €10,000 but went on to be screened at numerous film festivals throughout Ireland and Europe, picking up a host of awards along the way.

The Irish Times described the movie as ‘a dead ringer for Tarantino in a good way’.

The film is a dark comedy which follows the adventures of Wacker (Murphy) and Tony, two hapless wedding videographers who unexpectedly find themselves dealing with a dead body, overly enthusiastic members of the law enforcement, a fertility treatment, a vengeful gangster, and of course, an imminent wedding.

The deal is a major success for all those involved as it now opens the production up to the American market and a worldwide audience.

Writer and Director Maurice O’Carroll said: ‘ The deal is a major coup for all of us as it now opens it up to the US and worldwide audiences. We have proven that there was a huge appetite here in Ireland and we are hoping it’s success will continue on a global scale.’

Dead Along The Way features winning performances by Ciarán Bermingham (Game of Thrones, The Young Offenders) and Niall Murphy (Dracula Untold), the film screened in a number of festivals worldwide and didn’t disappoint when it was released in Irish cinema in March 2017, where it instantly charmed audiences and sold out every screening. It will now join a host of other hugely successful Irish films on Amazon prime, including Brooklyn, Lobster and The Young Offenders.
