Paddy called it right, in fact
THE technology gremlins took hold in last week’s edition attributing an incorrect prediction to former Louth boss Paddy Clarke.
The multiple Joe Ward winner was pencilled in for a Gaels’ win, but did actually predict a Blues victory, stating:
‘The start is vital, the Blues will try to kill off the game in the opening quarter, while the Gaels want to be ahead in order to keep their system intact.
‘Can see the Blues with the most skillful attack in the county getting the start they want, by their ability to score long range points – a necessity against a packed defence. I see a more open second half as the Gaels throw more men forward. After an intriguing tactical battle where speedy decision making is a must, the Blues triumphing by 0-15 to 2-8.’
The scoreline apart, the experienced Clarke was spot on.
We apologise for any slagging Paddy may have endured down in Newfoundwell and further afield.
Sean Murray
Couldn’t get running at the Blues’ defence as Cormac Reynolds, Colm Judge and Fergal Donohoe held the middle superbly.
