United Park is the best ground

AT the reception and presentation of trophies sponsored by John Tyler and Sons held in the new United Park Clubhouse after the match, glowing tributes were paid by League of Ireland and Irish League officials to the Drogheda Club on the magnificence of their new ground.

Mr. Donal O’Halloran, President L.O.I., said that the Tyler All-Ireland Club Cup proved to be one of the most successful NorthSouth competitions ever held and he congratulated Messrs. John Tyler and Sons on their sponsorship and initiation in organising the tourney. He congratulated Athlone Town on their victory and added that as President of the League of Ireland he was deeply honoured that four of his League should qualify for the semi-finals.

Mr. O’Halloran said it was his first visit to United Park and he was immensely impressed with what he saw. He congratulated. Mr. Michael Byrne and all connected with Drogheda United on the excellent renovation carried out and added that United Park was now certainly one of the best grounds in the country.
