New Green committee at St Joseph’s Mell
THE new Green School’s committee from St. Joseph’s, Mell has been formed. The children range from second class to sixth and have shown great interest in green schools and enhancing the environment.
The committee and wider school have begun work on the 5th green flag. This theme is biodiversity. The children will aim to increase awareness of biodiversity within the school and community and be involved in increasing biodiversity in the school.
This will include a variety of projects from tree planting, bulb plants, vegetable garden, bird feeders to mention a few.
On Thursday 5th October, an oak tree was planted as part of Tetra Pak Tree Day.
