Duke House deserves to be back in use

IN a past life, my journalistic career began in the front room of Duke House (right) on Duke Street.

So it’s with a heavy heart that you pass the place these days, locked up and in need of some TLC.

It has been home to many, and I’ll list the likes of Geraldine Lynch’s sewing service, The Boyne Research Institute, Gunne auctioneers, a pre-school, a management company as well as a location for piano and keyboard lessons.

I still think the place has huge potential and hopefully it will come back to prominence.
