RECENT HURRICANE

THE Hurricane, Ophelia, that swept across Ireland on Monday last, October 16th, left great devastatio­n in its wake, however it appears that we were extremely lucky here along the east-coast of County Meath in that there was little damage caused by the strong winds. A number of trees did come down across the parish of Stamullen, many of them thanfully fell along the boundaries of fields on farmland rather than onto the public roads. Some pretty large tree branches did come down onto the rural roads and, again, it was lucky that no great damage and/ or injury was caused.
