Darting night to honour Jillian

Special Olympics group in Drogheda to benefit from a great event at the Thatch

-

IT was probably pretty appropriate that the Special Olympics in Drogheda were the ones to benefit from a charity darts event held in the Thatch recently.

It was the second Jillian Thornton Memorial Darts tournament and was organised to honour the memory of a much loved and missed young lady.

Jillian from Halpin’s Terrace was tragically killed in a car accident in May 2016.

She was in her 21st year and to hoour her memory, sister Elaine and family and friends decided to organise a darts tournament for charity in her memory.

She was a big fan of the sport and the Thatch was packed out with players for this year’s event.
