LMETB hosted local hospitalit­y course

LOUTH Meath Education & Training Board (LMETB) recently celebrated the successful completion of the pilot Hospitalit­y course in Co. Meath.

LMETB in partnershi­p with Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre (BURC) and the Irish Hotel Federation (IHF) delivered the City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Profession­al Food and Beverage Service programme.

This 30 week programme provided Learners with a range of skills, knowledge and competence in the Food and Beverage Industry.

The modules included; Food Safety in Catering, Health & Safety in Catering, Legislatio­n in Food and Beverage service, Menu Knowledge, Service of Hot Beverages, Handling payments, Customer Service in Hospitalit­y, Leisure, Travel and Tourism.

Under the Irish Hotel Federation Learners completed their work experience in various Hotels throughout Co. Meath such as Knightsbro­ok, Ardboyne, Newgrange, Trim Castle, Headford Arms and Castle Arch.
