ACORN Counselling and Therapy Centre is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The centre offers a wide range of counselling services and complementary therapies and employs 25 trained counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists.

Acorn marked the occasion with a special gathering last Friday evening where all the counsellors who have worked at the centre over the years were welcomed back.

Acorn Counselling and Therapy Centre was established in October 1997. The core team are all professionals with years of experience in their field. The Centre itself has a warm and friendly atmosphere, and is located in the very heart of Drogheda town centre, in Wellington Quay, just overlooking the River Boyne.

A wide range of counselling services are available at Acorn including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Child and Adolescence Counselling, Addiction Therapy, Couples Counselling, Trauma Therapy and Family Therapy.

In addition, general counselling is offered for everything from Anxiety and Depression, Sex and Sexuality, Anger management and Self harming to Bereavement, Phobias, Stress and Confidence building.

The aim of the services offered is to promote healing and wellness and those who work at Acorn understand that for some people it may be a big step to seek counselling or holistic therapies.

Therapies offered at the centre include Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Sacred Esoteric Healing, Reflexology, Chakra Puncture and Massage.

There are also a number of classes and courses including Mindfulness, Meditation, Yoga and a Counselling Skills course.

During counselling, those in attendance are supported to talk about their life and issues in a safe and respectful way.

This will help to achieve a better understanding and insight into your problems and emotions and ultimately achieve a positive and constructive resolution of your issues.
