Compensati­on paid after chicken was thrown

AN incident, during which damage was caused in a local supermarke­t by a man throwing a chicken, has had a sequel, when the 40-year-old defendant paid compensati­on.

Earl Coyle, 59 Beechwood Drive, Drogheda, had a criminal damage charge struck out, after he handed over €101.

Previously, his barrister Irene Sands said he caused the damage by throwing a chicken in Centra, Rathmullen Road, on 14 July, 2014.

No garda evidence was given about what occurred.
