OLIVER PLUNKETTS

OUR 75th Anniversary Celebrations were brought to a close with a greatly enjoyable Dinner Dance held in the Westcourt Hotel on Saturday night last. The meal was excellent and the entertainment that followed went down a treat with the members. We were graced with the attendance of the Mayor Pio Smith and the Cathaoirleach of Louth GAA Des Halpenny.

Both were introduced by the Club’s Cathaoirleach Tomás Ó hEochaidh and they spoke eloquently of the club’s great history and the contribution made by it’s past members. The same tradition is alive and well with its present set-up and they wished the Plunketts all the best into the future. The Cathaoirleach thanked them for their kind remarks and outlined the programme envisaged for the club.

Certificates were then presented to all former Cathaoirligh present and those with long association with the Club. “Voodoo Jukebox” enlivened proceedings that lasted into the small hours and this interspersted with spots and raffle. There were certainly no losers on the night except those who missed the occasion!

The Lotto jackpot was not won last week and now stands at €4,200. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 12 and 15. The five luckydip winners were Pat Feeley, Peter Ryan, Brian & Nial Connor and Evin Farrell. Envelopes are available from usual outlets or at Clubhouse and people can play online.
