RAPID funding of €64,000 allocated for local CCTV
NEW RAPID funding has been announced to improve and upgrade CCTV in a number of Drogheda estates, it has been revealed.
Funding of €64,500 has been allocated under the RAPID (Revitalising Areas by Planning, Investment and Development), scheme for Drogheda and Dundalk.
The council proposes to the funding to upgrade CCTV in local RAPID areas.
This includes Rathmullen, Yellowbatter and Moneymore with additional CCTV in Rathmullen, councillors at the November meeting of Drogheda Municipal District were told.
They heard that the closing date for submissions is the end of November and the councillors all gave their support for the scheme.
The funding is to be divided equally between Drogheda and Dundalk and the funding has been allocated to provide CCTV in these areas, accourding to a note from the Department.
This is the first funding allocated by the Department in ten years.
