Anger as pathway in Moneymore blocked

-

IT’S hoped that motorists parking around the Moneymore area and in other parts of Drogheda will learn a lesson from a campaign sparked by a blocked footpath last week.

People with buggies and wheelchairs and pedestrians had their route blocked by cars parked all day on the pathway leading to DIFE.

Local woman Jennifer Boylan, a student in DIFE, said the situation has just gotten out of hand.

‘Everyday I walk I come across cars parked on the footpath on the road to college,’ she states. She has to push her child’s buggy onto a grass hill while she sees fellow students in wheelchairs having to go onto the road with coming traffic because the foot paths are taken up with cars.

She said she fears there will be an accident and is urging cars to park on the road and not the pathway. Letters of protest were also pinned to some windscreens.
