Town’s councillors should all resign and then see what happens!

-

A DECISION to cut the councillors’ budget in the Drogheda Municipal District drew an angry reaction at last week’s meeting in Barlow House.

They see it as just another example of undermining the town and those that represent it.

Right or wrong, that’s their view and fair play to them on that stance.

There has also been plenty of debate about the removal of the plastic bottle banks in the county. They are now filling up green bins or simply being dumped on the side of the road and in fields around the place.

Overall the councillors feel Drogheda is being neglected and say it’s time for change.

Ok, let’s make the biggest call out there - let’s see what happens if the councillors - en masse - resigned.

If the council do not back down and reinstate the plastic bottle banks or meet the calls they’ve made then make the ultimate stand.

If they are not being listened to - they feel - and if they say their role is being completely diminished to a stage that they have no power at all, create the biggest political statement out there for the town of Drogheda and make national headlines.
