Cullen is ahead of the game in league

PRESENTATI­ONS for the Flogas Clay Pigeon Summer League took place recently and veteran shooter Frank Cullen emerged as the overall winner with 158 points from 160.

The tournament, run by Bellewstow­n Game & Wildlife Club, takes place between August and October and is sponsored by Flogas who had Robert Irwin there to present the prizes.

Cullen received the Flogas Perpetual Shield and he was followed closely in the standings by Richard Martin (157pts), Johnny Dickson (156), Davin McCormack (151), PJ Reilly (147), Cathal Keegan (141), John Ennis (141), Vincent Doran (128), Peter Maxon (120) and Nigel Maxon (107).

The League is centred around five Perpetual Cup competitio­ns held over the summer; the Alfie Fynes Perpetual Cup (won by Frank Cullen), the PJ Conway Perpetual Cup (Cathal Keegan), the Willie Irwin Perpetual Cup (PJ Reilly), the Flogas Perpetual Cup (Vincent Doran) and the Pat Fallon Perpetual Cup (Gavin McCormack).

Robert Irwin of DroghedaFl­ogas Ireland commented: ‘Due to the high standard of marksmansh­ip, numerous exciting shoot-offs had to be held to decide all the Perpetual Cup winners during the competitio­n.
