THE midweek 12-hole stableford competitio­n winner was Marian Murnaghan with a steady 24 pts. Midweek competitio­ns continue Sundays to Fridays.

Ethna Dowling made a welcome return to the winner’s enclosure in Saturday’s 12-hole competitio­n when she posted a fine 25pts to claim the voucher. The 12-hole stableford GIG ladies winner was Una McGoey with 23 pts.

This Saturday 18th November will be a 12-hole Stableford Singles voucher competitio­n. BRS opens for booking as usual at 7pm on Wednesday prior.

Ladies agm takes place in the clubhouse on Friday 1st December at 7.30pm.

MACBRIDE P&P

ON Saturday evening the club celebrated its 30th Anniversar­y and founding and past members joined the current club committee and players to mark the special occasion at a function held in the Westcourt Hotel.

We were honoured to have Mervyn Cooney, the President of the Pitch & Putt Union of Ireland in attendance, who spoke highly of MacBride Pitch & Putt course and its members. We were also delighted to have our Mayor Pio Smith join us on the night and he also commended the MacBride club and its members. A very enjoyable night was had by all present, and we would like to thank all those who attended to make the event a memorable occasion.

Week six of the Turkey League took place last week and was an 18 gross competitio­n. The Grade 1 winner was David O’Brien with a score of 45 gross. Martin Kirwan took the Grade 2 prize with a score of 58 gross. The Grade 2 roast prize went to Joe Reilly with a score of 51 gross.

Week seven of the competitio­n will be an 18 nett and times of play are Wednesday and Saturday at 1.30pm and Sunday at 10am.

There was no winner of last week’s club lotto jackpot draw which took place last Wednesday. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 7 & 16 and the lucky dip winners were Rita Brady, Joe Browne and David Moran. The next draw will take place on Tuesday November 21st, with a jackpot prize of €2,550.

PEADAR’S SOCIETY

THE society held its last tournament of the year last Saturday over the Ballymac course. The ‘Emmett McGorman Memorial Trophy’ was up for grabs, generously sponsored by McGuinness’ Bar Anne Street. The winners were: 1st P Gray, B Duffy and B Kelly, 2nd J McGorman, F Doherty and M McKeown, 3rd P Murnaghan, B.McEneaney and S.Bailey.

There’s a full committee meeting next Monday at 9.30pm.
