Sparkling line up of classical music for festive season

-

AS people look ahead to the Festive season, Drogheda Classical Music steps up its offerings for Christmas and before.

On Thursday 23 November at 7.30pm Cédric Tiberghien and Alina Ibragimova, two of the most impressive musicians on the circuit today, will perform in St Peter’s Church of Ireland.

As individual musicians, they are in great demand with orchestras and concert halls around the world but it is their duo partnership that has really captured the imagination with The Guardian stating they are ‘ today’s partnership of choice for violin and piano repertory.’

It is the duo’s only performance in Ireland this year and an exciting and exceptional opportunity to see and hear two musicians of this calibre in our town.

The Series’ Christmas concert will be by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra with multi-award winning Egyptian soprano, Fatma Said and American tenor, William Davenport.

Together they will perform a mix of well-known operatic arias, works from West Side Story, and a selection of seasonal orchestral and vocal music including the beautiful O Holy Night.

To accommodate the larger orchestra, this concert will take place in St Peter’s Church on West Street on Friday, December 15th at 7.30pm.
