CONGRATULA­TIONS AGAIN, SLANE

Congratula­tions to Slane Tidy Towns again, on their success in the County Pride of Place Awards, held in the Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, last Thursday night. The out-right Winner in the Large Town over 1,000 population category, Slane Tidy Towns will represent Meath in the up-coming Co-Operation Ireland Pride of Place Awards. They are entered in the Population - 1000 - 2000 Category of these All Ireland Awards, the results will be announced at the awards ceremony in Letterkenn­y, Donegal on Saturday 2nd December. TUS VACANCY

A TUS vacancy exists with Broomfield and District Residents Associatio­n. The Work Programme involves Care-taking duties in and around Teach Raithneach, as well as the maintenanc­e and upkeep of a number of amenities throughout the District. If you think you are eligible to participat­e in this Scheme, then please contact the Secretary on 086 3212986 for more informatio­n. Self referral forms are available. These allow you to self-refer to Meath Partnershi­p, the body who have responsibi­lity for the TUS Scheme in this area.

CRAFT CLUB

The stone at the top entrance to Hungry Hall Park has been inscribed. Looks well. Similar work at the bottom entrance will complete the job.

COMMUNITY ALERT

Community Alert is busy these times, with plenty of text messages coming through. The latest is in respect of a Silver Toyota Hi-Lux, registrati­on 131 LH 1343, stolen on Thursday 09/11/2017. The previous night at 10.30 pm, a Blue, Builder’s Trailer with mesh sides was stolen.

If you can shed any light on either of these two incidents, please contact any Garda Station.

Any informatio­n, no matter how trivial it might seem, could prove to be valuable and might lead to the culprits being apprehende­d. Above all, keep an eye out for those who use the cover of darkness to perpetrate crime, be extra vigilant, as the work of Criminals never ceases, as we know only too well in this District.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SET DANCE CEILI

The Annual Christmas Set Dance Ceili takes place in Teach Raithneach on Sunday 10th December 2017 from 4 to 7 pm. Music is by The Tara Ceili Band and Fear an Ti, John Mc Evoy will call the sets.
