Mary, a wonderful lady sadly missed

- Mary Mooney

MARY Mooney (nee Carry), Allardstown, Knockbridge, who died recently, was an energetic and active lady throughout her life.

She passed away peacefully on 21 September, 2017, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

Mary was the beloved wife of Seán, who predeceased her; and dear mother of Ann, Dympna, Bernie and Linda; and loving grandmother of Sarah, Seán, Tara, Ewan, Emma, Ellie and Alfie.

Aged 76, she was originally from Tullyallen, Drogheda; and the eldest of four children, the others being, Micheal, Rita (RIP) and Brigid.

She left school at 14 to work at Mell factory, and then at the age of 19, moved to Dundalk to work in the Louth hospital.

Finally, she worked at PJ Carrolls for many years, before she married.

Mary was a stylish lady, who took great pleasure shopping for the latest fashion. She was also a keen knitter.

After reposing at her home, her remains were removed to St. Michael’s Church, Darver for the funeral Mass. Burial took place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The family would like to thank all family, friends and neighbours, for their help through a difficult time.

Mary will be sadly missed by her daughters, Ann, Dympna, Bernie and Linda; grandchildren, Sarah, Seán, Tara, Ewan, Emma, Ellie and Alfie; sister, Brigid and brother, Micheal; sons-in-law, Fred, Kevin, Stephen and David; nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.
