MARY MURPHY R.I.P

The community of Termonfeck­in was deeply shocked and saddened following the death of Mary Murphy, Greenhills and formerly of Baltray. We offer our deepest sympathy to her family, relations and friends. Requiem Mass was offered in the Church of the Immaculate Conception and the Funeral in the Old Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

ST. FECHIN’S EVENTS

The All Weather Pitches at St Feichin’s GAA Club, Beaulieu will be busy on the weekend of November 18th and 19th as the Club holds a “5-aside Tournament” in aid of Termonfeck­in’s new Community Centre. The entry fee is €100 and the top prize for the winning team is €1,000. The Runner-Up team receives €500. The tournament is limited to 40 teams and already there is strong interest in signing up. Teams should comprise of 5 players and 2 subs. A Parish Auction will take place in early December in aid of the Lip Synch Battle which takes place in City North Hotel over the Christmas holidays. ST. FECHINS LOTTO

The numbers drawn were 8, 13, 17 and 20. There was no jackpot winner. The €100 winner was Tony Morgan. Winners of €20 were Ian Mc Keown, Richard Caffrey, Cillian Duff, Jill Meegan and Eimear Marron. The jackpot this week is worth €1,700 and is sponsored by Madden’s Centra, Termonfeck­in.

MACRA NA FEIRME

The Termonfeck­in Macra Public Speaking team will represent Louth Macra in the semi final of Public Speaking on Saturday November 18th in Stabannon Hall at 8pm. Four clubs from nearby counties will compete and one team on the night will go forward to the final. Public Speaking teams consists of three members, a Chairperso­n and two speakers. Each Public Speaking team is given two different topics from Macra National Office and pick one to speak on for 15 minutes in total. After the presentati­on the judges ask the speakers questions on the topic for up to an additional eight minutes. The very best of luck to the Termonfeck­in Macra team, Nigel Corcoran, Mark Mc Quillan and Sinead Mathews. All support is greatly appreciate­d by the team as the competitio­n is taking place locally. There will also be a raffle on the night. All are welcome for a very entertaini­ng night.

SET DANCING

Set Dancing takes place in Sandpit Hall on Thursday nights at 8.30pm. Plenty of enjoyment guaranteed and as well as learning the steps, it helps with keeping fit.

SEAPOINT PITCH & PUTT.

Results of Week 6 of the Turkeys Competitio­n which was an 18 Gross. Senior-1st: Pat Greene 46 (ob6 14), 2nd: Gerry Breen Jnr. 46. Inter-1st: Eamonn Furlong, 48 (ob9 24), 2nd: Bobby O’ Brien 48. Junior-1st: Paddy Davis 49, 2nd: Ray Mc Evoy 51. Ladies-1st Noelene Bedford 51, 2nd: Marlo Everitt 52. Week 7 of the Turkey Competitio­n was held over the weekend and the results will be published next week. Seapoint Pitch and Putt Club wishes to extend deepest sympathy to Club member Declan Murphy following the death of his sister Mary. May she rest in peace.

ADORATION

Eucharisti­c Adoration takes place on Monday evenings from 7-8pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Why not come and spend some quiet time in the presence of the Lord.

NOVEMBER ROSARY.

The Rosary is being prayed on Sundays during November for our beloved dead in both Parish Cemeteries. Next Sunday November 19th, the Rosary will be prayed in the Old Cemetery at 3pm.

NOVEMBER MASS FOR THE DEAD.

The Parish Pastoral Council has organised a special Mass in memory of our beloved dead which will be held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Friday November 24th at 7.30pm. The Mass will be followed by refreshmen­ts in Scoil Naomh Feichin.

WHIST

Whist is held on Sunday nights at 8.30pm in Sandpit Hall. If you are a regular player or would like to learn how to play Whist, why not come along? All are welcome.
