Drogheda’s lights to switch on at 4.30pm on Friday

-

DROGHEDA’S Christmas lights will spring into life around 4.30pm on Friday December 1.

There will be no formal event this year as a lot of effort has gone in to getting the lights sourced.

Niall Kierans from the lights committee says that after fears that the old lights might not be fit for purpose this year, efforts were made to secure new features, with 12 in total added.

Chief Executive of Louth CC Joan Martin and Frank Pentony assisted with the logistics and this year the lights on West St pomise to be brighter than ever.

Further improvements will take place over the next few years.
