Five months for motorist (28)

A 28-year-old motorist has been sentenced to five months imprisonment for driving without insurance.

Shane Cunningham, 13 Platin Road, Drogheda, who has one child, and is a part-time worker, was stopped by gardaí at Moneymore on 15 January, 2016.

Drogheda court heard he has three previous convictions for no insurance.

Judge Coughlan also imposed a ten-year driving disqualification.

Bail in the event of an appeal was set at €200 cash.
