Fined €300 for behaviour

A €300 fine has been imposed on Derek Kavanagh (51), Hardmans Gardens, Drogheda, for engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour in a public place.

The court heard that on 13 January, 2017, after carrying out an arrest of another man, Garda Kieran Murphy had to stop the patrol van when Kavanagh ran to the front of the vehicle.

He struck the van with his left arm, then verbally abused the officer through a window.
