-

CURRAHA ST OLIVER’S 5-19 3-12

CURRAHA qualified for another decider when they overcame St Oliver’s following extra time in a hard fought Under-21 A Championship semi-final at Martry on Sunday. They now meet the Syddan/Castletown combination Killary Emmets in the final.

Curraha started the better and were 1-3 to the good before their opponents registered a score, but to their credit St Oliver’s got into the game the longer it progressed and at half-time the sides were level at 1-6 each.

Boosted by two goals St Oliver’s opened up a lead in the second half and looked to have done enough to secure a final spot, but that was before Curraha rallied with a goal from Conor O’Farrell.

Further points from Conor Moriarty and Brian Murphy eventually forced the game to extra time.

There was only one team in it in the additional 20 minutes and Curraha stormed 13 points clear to finish as comfortable winners.

CURRAHA: L McCarthy; N Murphy, M Phelan; C O’Farrell, A Moriarty, S Hanrahan; B Murphy, B Joyce; A Battersby, A Coyle, S Keogh; C Moriarty, J O’Connor. Subs: R Reid for Battersby, Battersby for Coyle, Coyle for Battersby, I Battersby for O’Farrell.
