Magic Moriarty steers combo to league title

VINCENT’S/CURRAHA 1-11 KILBRIDE 1-10

DIARMUID MORIARTY scored 1-10 as St Vincent’s/Curraha claimed the Division 4 League title at Dunganny.

This was a cracking contest, with little or nothing separating the sides throughout. A penalty goal by Moriarty and a spot-kick save from St Vincent’s/Curraha keeper Matthew Brennan proved the difference at the final whistle.

St Vincent’s/Curraha played with the wind in the first half and were two points to the good at half-time - 0-8 to 1-3.

Kilbride rallied well in the second half and went two points clear at one stage following four successive points.

Moriarty’s penalty goal left them a point clear with five minutes remaining. Kilbride hit back to draw level before Moriarty hit over the winner from a 30-metre free.
