Mariner sail into shake-up

MARINER were the night’s big winners in Friday’s round of top-flight matches in the Fosters Duleek & District Dart League.

While joint pace-setters Greyhound and Sally shared the points and third-placed Carranstown were also held, Mariner moved to within striking distance of the leaders with a comprehensive home victory over Lantern Lounge.

In Division 1, Matthews picked up a narrow win away to Boyne Valley in the night’s top-of-thetable clash and they now share the lead with Maguires who drew at Morning Star.

The biggest surprise result of the night came in Division 2 where Grennans inflicted a first defeat on hosts Thatch C whose lead at the top over Lynchs has now been cut to a single point.

Sally Inn and Railway Bar are now joint leaders in Division 3, with Mariner B slipping down the table.
