DRUGS SEIZED IN MELL
‘Substantial’ find by local uniformed gardai
WHAT has been termed as a ‘significant’ amount of drugs have been seized following a garda operation in Drogheda on Monday morning.
Three males, all in their mid 30s, were arrested in connection with the discovery at the commercial unit in Mell.
They were taken to Drogheda Garda Station and held under the provisions of Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Powder, believed to be cocaine (subject to analysis) along with a quantity of tablets, were recovered.
Superintendent Andrew Watters said the find came after ‘excellent detection by uniformed gardai from Drogheda station’.
Armed gardai also attended the scene and the area was sealed off.
Gardai spent the day at the location with quantities of the substances found being sent off for analysis.
