ODS President to host lunch at Boyne Valley

The Old Drogheda Society President’s (John McCullen) Lunch will take place on Sunday December 10th in the Boyne Valley Hotel, Stameen, Drogheda at 1 pm sharp.

The guest speaker will be Ronan Gormley,Professor in the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science,Ronan was born in Drogheda and lived at 1 Boyne Terrace,Chord Road, his father was headmaster in the Drogheda Technical School in King Street.

Ronan was educated in Dogheda CBS and UCD and he conducted post doctoral research at the Universities of Michigan and Maryland, USA before joining An Foras Taluntais (now Teagasc) where he worked on food sience and technology for 43 years before retiring.

He now lectures in UCD on a part time basis, Ronan is a keen angler and he recently published a book on his experiences fishing in local waters.
