We hosted a very well attended SafeTALK Suicide Awareness Talk on Thursday last. All those who attended will receive their Certificates shortly. SafeTALK training teaches you how to provide practical help to persons who are having thoughts of suicide and to connect them with further help and care.

THERE was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne’s Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 22nd November. The winning numbers were 1, 19, 20, and 23. Congratulations to Marie-Claire Rodgers and Roisin Osborne on receiving Louth Intermediate All star awards last night. Both girls had some great perfomances throughout the year and are super role models for other young players in the club. Well done to all the Boyne AC athletes that competed in the All Ireland competition on Sunday in Abbotstown. A special mention to all the Blues players Eva & Lily Cummins, Caelan Quinn, Danny Nugent, Shea O’Donnell that competed and performed so well. What an achievement!
Last week’s lotto numbers were 2, 6, 13, 26. There was no jackpot which rises to €4,800. The €25 winners were Johnny Clerkin, Ruth Healy, Al Martyn, Noel Carr, Des Healy.
The main AGM will take place on Thursday 7th December at 7.30pm in the clubhouse. All members encouraged to attend. We are looking for willing candidates for the following positions: PRO, Assistant Secretary. And if you are willing to help out in a way please let us know.
Development work has commenced on the clubhouse. The project will take approximately three months. Please bear with us during this time as we make the clubhouse better.

OVER this last number of weeks some members of the committee and a senior team players representative, have met with a prospective new coach for our Senior Mens team following the departure of Barry Cullen and his team.
As a result of successful talks, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Niall Callan for the position of Senior Team Coach for the coming year. Niall is a Collon native, he has been a member of the St Fechins coaching team and has played his football with Mattock Rangers.
I’m sure you will join us in welcoming Niall to the Roche Emmets clan and wish him a season of success for 2018.

Our 2017 U16s captain Sean Dawe was presented with the Division 2A League Cup and our U14’s Captain Niall Lennon was presented with the U14 2B League Cup by a member of their coaching team, Brendan McArdle and Martin McCourt respectively. Each team member was presented with their county medals.
Both teams have shown great team work, grit and determination this year, the future looks bright for Roche Emmets with players and teams of this calibre coming through the ranks.
Our Club President Owen Joe Woods was honoured at the Presentation Night. Chairman Aidan McArdle made a presentation of an award in recognition of Owen Joe’s services and contribution to the club down through the years. Thank you for your years of service Owen Joe, we look forward to your leadership and guidance long into the future.
Our lotto jackpot was not won on the final draw of the year with 4 players coming close all matching 3 numbers many thanks to all who supported the draw in 2017 and to all promoters, thank you. The jackpot sits at €3,200 when the draw returns early 2018.
For the second year running we as a club, entered acts into the Scor Na Nóg competition. This year we entered four acts. Over the coming years we hope to expand on this and have acts entered in all categories.

We are delighted to have been successful in three of the four categories entrered and Roche Emmets will be representing LouthGAA in the Leinster semi finals of Scor na Nog 2017.
ST JOSEPH’S
THE AGM was held in our clubrooms at Cluskey Park, on Monday evening the 27th November. The meeting opened with Secretary Darren Finnegan’s report, a comprehensive, frank and honest report of the year. This was followed by the Treasurer Eugene Mc Ardle’s report and the discussion of the full accounts with all those present. Without covering ground that the secretary had already covered, the outgoing chairman Michael Kinahan also gave a comprehensive report.
The highlight of 2017 football season was the juniors winning the Division 5 League. There were also some epic displays in the senior championship, most notably in two games against St Mary’s and the quarter-final win over the Geraldines. Both league and championship dreams were ultimately ended by county champions, Newtown Blues. Former Skerries Harps and Rathoth manager Terry McGinnis was announced as the senior team manager for 2018.
