‘Spark’ling game ends in loss

-

A SUPERB North East League clash saw Drogheda Sparks Under-16s pipped at the death by Blackhall Steelers (Monaghan) in their latest outing.

Games between the two clubs at this level are always tight and it seemed that Sparks had completed a great comeback as they led by four with 90 seconds to play after earlier trailing by nine points, thanks to strong games from Ava Prendergast, Ciara Mac Criosta and Kate Kelly.

However, Blackhall showed ‘steely’ resolve to turn it around and snatch a 48-46 victory.

Earlier in the day Drogheda Sparks Under-14s lost to a much better Blackhall team.
