Wonder for Aston Village

-

Fifth class from Aston Village had a great trip into town on Friday to see the new film Wonder!

We have studied the novel Wonder over the last 3 months and loved it, so have been waiting excitedly for the release of the movie version in Ireland. We applied to the parents council in our school for a grant to help us pay for the trip.

Arc cinema kindly put on a private screening for us during school hours, which meant we were the first group in town to get to see it! Wonder is a beautiful story about a ten year old boy called August Pullman.

It encourages empathy and open mindedness, justice and self acceptance. It also highlights there are two sides to every story. We even created our own art display of personal precepts in our classroom! A great day was had with Rachel, Marese and Orla all shedding a few tears! Special mention to Conor Breen who had a fantastic day!
