DUNDALK GAELS

A VOTE of sympathy was passed at a recent committee meeting with Robbie McCrave and the Culligan family on their recent bereavemen­ts.

The jackpot in our lotto has reached €10,600. Tickets are available from committee members for tonight’s draw, taking place in the clubrooms. Consolatio­n prizewinne­rs in last week’s draw were Joe Quinn, Patricia Ryan, Ann Rooney, Joe Mac and Niamh Rooney-McGeough.

LAST week’s lotto numbers were 1, 2, 18, 28. The match-3 prize of €200 was won by Harry McIntyre. The jackpot wasn’t won and rises to €16,000. GLEN EMMETS

DURING this season of giving, we would like to remember those that may homeless. We are looking for donations of the following items for Drogheda Cares For The Homeless: Warm blankets & sleeping bags; Men’s underwear (socks/jocks); Sanitary items (roll on deodorant/shampoos/tissues); Clothes (Thermals/Shoes/ Men’s runners/hats/gloves/ scarves); Non-perisable food (tea bags/coffee/hot chocolate/ bottled water/chocolate/crisps/ cup-a-soup).

You can drop items to the clubhouse on Thursday 14th December from 7.30-8.30pm.

New Year’s Day Draw tickets only €50, with €10,000 worth of prizes. 1st Prize €6,000, 2nd Prize €2,000, 3rd Prize €1,000 and 10 prizes of €100. Draw will take place at 9pm on New Year’s Day in the Morning Star. Tickets available from committee members and the Centra, Tullyallen.

THE end of year Club Recognitio­n Celebratio­ns Event for U18 down to U13 will take place in January.

Sean Hand has been appointed a selector with the county minors for 2018 so good luck to him on that front.

The juvenile AGM takes place in the Community Centre on Monday next December 18, at 8.00pm.

Parents, players and mentors are asked to attend to have input into the year ahead and new members welcome.

MILLMOUNTH­ANDBALL

THERE was plenty of fun and excitement in our Top Ace score competitio­n last week congrats to Catriona Bagnall who managed to defeat all contenders with a fine top score of 14 aces to win the €20 Christmas voucher for Tuites Butchers.

The club would like to thank Gerrard Flanagan for sponsoring the Tuites voucher.

Club membership is now due adults €40, Juveniles €10, forms for membership can be obtained at Coke hall reception or contact any committee delegate.

Our club Christmas party fun night will take place on Friday 22 Dec in Coke hall There will be plenty of fun and entertainm­ent for everyone on the night all starting at 6.45pm so don’t miss out.

Our 40x20 juvenile handball training continues at Gormanston Sports Complex next Tuesday night transport departs the Pheasant car park at 6pm.

We would like to remind all parents and players that our club registrati­ons will take place next Friday night.

There were some games played in our juvenile shield competitio­n last week results are as follows E Fay/J Mc Donnell defeated K Harrison/O Fay 9-5. C Byrne/J Mc Donnell def O Fay/K Byrne 10-8, in the singles E Fay defeated K Harrison 15-7, E Fay defeated J Mc Donnell 10-6.

NAOMH MALACHI

for CONDOLENCE­S are extended to the family and friends of Johnny Rogers (New York and late of Shanmullag­h) who passed away last week in the US. Johnny played with the Shelagh Emmets back in the 1950s and with the Louth team of 1957 before setting sail for New York prior to the All Ireland final of that same year. He spent his career working within the banking sector but returned home on numerous occasions to his roots. Johnny’s brother Paddy and sister Christina reside in the US and England respective­ly. Mass is offered in Johnny’s memory on Sunday, December 17th at 11am in the Sacred Heart Church, Shelagh with refreshmen­ts afterwards in the Naomh Malachi clubrooms. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

At our Club AGM on last Friday evening, the following officers were elected: Aidan Fee (Chairperso­n); Francis McArdle (Vice-Chairperso­n); Tracey Rogers (Secretary); Micheal Woods (Assistant Secretary); Donna Daly (Treasurer); Ronan McElroy (Assistant Treasurer); Peter Rooney (County Board Delegate); Kevin Begley (Minor Board Delegate); Michelle Daly (Health and Wellbeing Officer); Micheal Woods (Irish Language Officer); Gearoid Wills (Insurance Officer); Ruairi Daly (Registrar). The club are seeking a PRO and Assistant PRO following Ronan Lynch’s decision to step down from the committee after 12 years. Any interested parties should contact a member of the committee.
