Conor Molloy

-

CONOR Molloy’s rise in the motor racing ranks has been, well, rapid and the Donacarney driver’s latest success was victory in this year’s Formula Vee Ireland Crowne Plaza Dundalk B Championship.

The 28-year-old had moved up a grade in the single-seater ranks after finishing runner-up in the Novice competition 12 months ago, which was his first season in the sport.

His achievements over 11 rounds that took in the Kirkistown, Mondello Park and Bishopscourt circuits are all the more impressive because, unlike many of his rivals, Conor has a self-run set-up, acting as driver and mechanic as well as looking over the logistics and finances.

However, he might have to rethink that approach as he moves up to compete in the ‘A’ grade for 2018.
