Music world mourns Roisin Ni Chairbre
SHE WAS PART AND PARCEL OF POPULAR NORTH STRAND PUBLIC HOUSE FOR DECADES
THE community that has been part and parcel of the North Strand for decades shed a united tear last week.
The death of Roisin Ni Chairbre saw a little piece of Drogheda’s tradition also disappear.
For years, she was a familiar face in the family pub, helping to run the business with sister, Aine, and her late mother, Bean Ui Chairbre.
Her red hair was her trade mark and tributes poured in on social media, some describing her as a ‘Drogheda legend’
Others stated how she enjoyed the music and the company that would light up the pub, from the Blue Grass to the tradtional Irish - every genre has its place in Carberrys.
Roisin passed away after an illness at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and was beloved daughter of the late Caítlin Uí Chairbre and the late Patsy Carberry and is sadly missed by her sisters and brothers, Niamh, Aine, Fidelma, Dominic, Aongus and Fiacre, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Her funeral mass on Thuesday to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, was a true celebration of her life.
The family pub also hosted a memorial night at the weekend to honour her memory.
