Pictured with Eoin are l/r Joe Sweeney, area president, St. Vincent de Paul, Lisa McArdle, shop manager and Karen Craig, member of the SVP board for the Drogheda area. Also pictured are some of the shop volunteers, l/r: Mary Keogh, Margaret Walsh, Netta Williams, Ruth Murray, Inese Upite and Christine Nolan.

Flogas has also made donations to the St Vincent de Paul in Cork and Ballyhaunis as these communities are located close to the company terminals and other facilities.

John Rooney, managing director, Flogas Ireland, said: ‘We hope that our donation will help alleviate the hardpressed needs of individuals and families in the local area during what can be a very difficult time for them.’

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) expects 50,000 families to seek its help over the winter months.

In the run-up to Christmas the SVP Annual Appeal message this year is ‘Christmas is not the same for everyone’.

The Society is seeking donations to help families and individuals in need in communities across Ireland.

SVP is also drawing attention to the fact that it helps people not just over Christmas but also throughout the year at times when families find themselves in financial difficulties.
