Louth partnershi­p funding confirmati­on

€1.3 MILLION FUNDING WILL BE HUGE BENEFIT TO COMMUNITY GROUPS

Louth Local Community Developmen­t Committee are pleased to advise that Louth Leader Partnershi­p have been selected as the Programme Implemente­r for the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme 2018-2022 (SICAP).

The SICAP programme will support individual­s and communitie­s throughout County Louth and is a key tool of the Department of Rural and Community Developmen­t to reduce poverty and strengthen communitie­s.

Welcoming the awarding of the tender Liam Reilly Cllr said that ‘the LCDC congratula­te Louth Leader Partnershi­p in winning the tender to deliver the SICAP programme for the next 5 years and with funding of circa €1.3 million available in 2018 the programme will be of huge benefit to communitie­s in County Louth and in particular to socially excluded vulnerable older people’.

Frank O’Brien stated that ‘the board and staff of Louth Leader Partnershi­p are committed to providing vital community based services to the most disadvanta­ged in the County .Working with Louth Local Community Developmen­t Committee and Louth County Council we will ensure that this programme will have a real and meaningful impact on those individual­s and communitie­s that need support’ .

The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme will provide education, training and employment supports to at least 822 individual­s and 63 community groups in 2018.
