MARK SIMPSON, RIP
The sincere sympathy of Broomfield and District Residents Association and the Community of Broomfield and District is extended to the Simpson and extended Simpson Family on the passing of Mark Simpson, Redwood City, Calfornia and late of Hurcle, Collon recently. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time for you. A celebration of Mark’s life will take place in January 2018 in Monterey, California.

WALKING GROUP
Broomfield and District Walking Group will resume their walking activity on Sunday 7th January 2018. Contact Josie on 086 4458108 for all walking activity details.
SET DANCING

CRAFT CLUB

ART CLASSES
Art Classes resume after the Christmas break as follows; the Monday morning class at 10 am, starts back on 19th February. The Tuesday evening class, 7.30 to 9.30 pm, starts back on 30th January. Please contact Niamh on 086 8554590 for further information.
GRANGEGEETH INN RE-OPENS
It’s great to see the Grangegeeth Inn open for business again. Now boasting a Restaurant/Cafe/Bar/ and Guesthouse, lets hope that the effort that has gone into this enterprise is reflected in the support it enjoys locally and further afield. “A free 5 week Basic Laptop, iPhone, iPad, SmartPhone or Tablet Classes available in all areas. The course will be delivered by Meath Partnership. Hopefully there will be enough interested in this course to get it up and running early in the new year, in Teach Raithneach.
TUS VACANCY
A TUS vacancy exists with Broomfield and District Residents Association. The Work Programme involves Care-taking duties in and around Teach Raithneach, as well as the maintenance and up-keep of a number of amenities throughout the District. If you think you are eligible to participate in this Scheme, then please contact the Secretary on 086 3212986 for more information. Self referral forms are available. These allow you to self-refer to Meath Partnership, the body who have responsibility for implementing the TUS Scheme in this area.

TENURE DEFIBRILLATOR
Great to see the big attendance at Tenure’s official installation of it’s defibrillator at Tenure Stores on Friday last. Those in attendance were given demonstrations and info by Grainne Berrill, Fergal Costello and Fintan Harmon on Community First Responders and what they do. It is hoped a similar unit will be installed in the Fieldstown area in the very near future. I hope to keep you up to date, via this column, on this wonderful initiative, throughout 2018

CHRISTMAS SWIM
Anna Marie, young Paddy and myself went for a dip at Annagassan’s pier on Christmas morning. It was the most crazy/ exhilarating thing we’ve ever done. Would we do it again and recommend it to others?............... absolutely.
FUN HORSE RIDE.
The Louth Hunt in conjunction with Piperstown Equestrian Centre & Macra Na Feirme are hosting a fun run around the parish of Monasterboice on Sunday 7th January 2018 , starting at 1pm from Piperstown .
Donations will go to Tenure Community First Responders ,( AED for local shop ) . Adults €30 children €20 .
