500 houses added to Louth Building Stock

ALMOST 500 houses have been added to the Louth Residentia­l Building Stock in 2017, it has been revealed.

According to the Geoview Residentia­l Buildings Report, 489 dwellings were added to the housing stock last year and a further 300 buildings were under constructi­on in the county in December 2017. The new houses added to the GeoDirecto­ry database represente­d 1.4% of the national total of new addresses. The Louth housing turnover rate was 2.45%, slightly lower than the national average of 2.5%

The average residentia­l property price in Louth in 2017 was €193,871. This was lower than the national average of €262,061. However, excluding Dublin city and county, the average national property price was €187,623. In Louth, the area with the highest average residentia­l property price in 2017 was Drogheda at €216,536.
