€4,000 presented to Samaritans after Laugh Out Louth

-

FOLLOWING the huge success of Drogheda’s first ever Laugh Out Louth festival, the organisers were delighted to present a cheque for €4,000 to the local branch of the Samaritans.

The festival took place back in October and proved to be a huge hit with both young and old alike.

The festival was organised by a local committee who all had a common goal of raising awareness about male mental health through the medium of comedy.

The town of Drogheda and the county as a whole came out in force to show their support for the festival and there were plenty of belly laughs along the way.

The three day festival included a family friendly event on the Saturday and the weekend culminated with a sellout finale in the Droichead Arts Centre featuring headliner Deirdre O’Kane, Eleanor Tiernan, Eric Lawlor, Joe Rooney and Laugh Out Louth’s very own Michael Kiernan as MC.

Plans are already in the pipeline for next year’s Laugh Out Louth comedy festival which promises to be even bigger and better.
