MCHUGH’S Venue are delighted to announce that one of Ireland’s legendary rock tribute acts will be taking to the legendary Cord Road stage to kick off 2018.

On Friday 12th January, the gig that all of Drogheda has been waiting for comes around when local heroes Metallitia play one of their rare live shows.

They became Drogheda and national heroes when they won RTE’s inaugural Reality Rock Show, Karl Spain Wants To Rock, run over 5 weeks on RTE 2, back in 2010, which saw them take their place on the headlining bill for Europe’s top tribute festival Glastonbudget in England.

The self-proclaimed local “hard-rock legends” are Flash on vocals and guitar, Richie McScrumpy on lead guitar, Paddy Levins on bass guitar and Jimmy Brennan on drums.

Tickets are on sale at the venue and a great crowd is expected, so early attendance on this night is strongly advised.

Drogheda Institute for Further Education invites you to attend the annual open days. Open days are on January 18th 2018 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm and January 19th 2018 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. The Open Days are a wonderful opportunity to meet staff and students, and to get a feel for what college life at DIFE is like. and finish point for the run.

Erin’s Run was set up in memory of Erin Curran who passed away in September 2014 as a result of a rare neurological disorder that she was born with.

The run seeks to raise funds for the childrens charities, hospitals and organisations that helped and supported Erin and her family during her short life.

There are important changes to note this year, including the change of day from Saturday to Sunday and the later start time of 3pm.
