No sugar or flour for Drogheda

HOW times have changed.

100 years ago this week a dispute was in full swing between the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company and some of the men who worked on their cross channel boats service.

Basically, the service ran between Liverpool and Drogheda and hadn’t operated in weeks, leaving the town short of sugar, flour and other foodstuffs.
